Egypt Mill Wedding Photography
Having been to many wedding photo shoots at Egypt Mill over the years, it has been a rarity that I have had to carry out the wedding photography of the service itself at Egypt Mill, until recently.
Egypt Mill is in Nailsworth near Stroud and is a hotel which was once a watermill.

As you will have gathered, this was a winter wedding at Egypt Mill and the theme of the wedding is set in rich colourful tones and themed toward Acting as both the bride and groom and some guests are actors, if you have seen them before then you will now know why.
It really made a difference when working with them to obtain the ‘wedding essence’ into the photos of what was a fun and relaxed style of wedding.
I feel that when any photographer is at a wedding it is important to match the guests and feel of the wedding as this can cause a drift if the photographer doesn’t fit into the wedding, its theme and the emotive ambiance of the day says Photographer Rory Witham
The wedding venue and staff made the whole wedding seem very personal and not commercial like other wedding events where we have photographed weddings at. The venue itself seems a little small due to the low ceiling height and the thick wooden beams, which can make the photography a little difficult for winter weddings due to the flash bouncing off them effecting the camera metering.
This image was made for the groom as we finished off his photo shoot where he joked about feeling like a Mafia man, we then directed him in to this pose so that we could put a tommy gun in his hand and create a special photo.
As you can see, the venues entry is on the car park which has a fire station to one side and a large tower, the yellow car park markings do detract from the images.The garden is shaded, so in the winter it can be a little too wet for the guests photos within the garden itself and is worth taking into account when you book your wedding.
