A traditional photograph at a wedding is the signing of the register, a posed and fake photo as photographer are not allowed to take a picture of the actual book. The reason behind your wedding photographer not being allowed to take this photo is; as the book has one certificate for each page and side, other peoples details maybe on the book and therefore falls under the data protection act.
